Just something to think about....
Initially, we decided that we would use Tom's 6 year old brother as our 'hands' for the stop motion part of the animation as he is the same age as the child we are trying to depict and our children's drawing ideas are based on his drawings he kindly made for us to put in a project portfolio as research. However, after a very helpful chat with Andy on Tuesday, he advised us that from experience, it is much better to use a 'model' who understands the process and requirements of stop-motion as, compared to a small child, they will be more 'obedient.' Therefore, we need to agree on a pair of hands to use in the animaiton instead! :)
Once we have decided this and got underway, we will need to book the stop-motion studio through Laura and chat to Andy about our production schedule.
Just to add to what Andy said:
ReplyDelete-DSLR camera instead of compact as there is more scope with the lense and to use a robust tripod.
-Do not shoot on carpet, too hard to control and keep consistant.
-Stay clear of floresant light and dont rely on daylight.
Need to think about what sort of lighting is going ot best suit our animation so I can plan bookings etc :)
-Need to speak to Bill Biship Stevens about the stop motion cameras (more of a side note for me booking but just wanted to ensure there was a digital copy :))
-In terms of the tradition animation, need to sort out storyboards and animatics in full and then talk with andy to see availability in terms of what 3rd years are using as they have prioirty. Consider batch scanning, have a higher chance of being availabe.
Good points Laura- I forgot to mention them, though if i would u I'd ask Will, not Bill lol :) We should get the animatics done very soon as the storyboard will hopefully have been done for tomorrow
