Anywaaaays...
Here is the animatic, I'm not sure about the music both in terms of copyright and also if it actually fits with the animation? I will email Andy to see what he says about using others music work and let you know what he says :)
Also, Andy replied to my email regarding what was needed in terms of sound and he said that just a song in the background is insufficient so need to add in some Foley work. I was thinking maybe wind blowing, birds tweeting, dog barking? And also a slam when the boy punches the jigsaw?
Can you guys think of anything else we could add in?
In terms of the animatic, I had trouble making it reach the minute work hence the longer time on the last "My Perfect Family" frame. However, if we are following John's suggestion in regards to using the animated logo, I think it will work :D
Let me know what you think!

(Sorry havent figured out this new vid thing yet!)
hey laura :)
ReplyDeleteanimatic looks great- very pleased :) i had been thinking about foley and thought also when the boy gets frustrated, we could have a sigh or even slight breathing during the stop motion part so it's like we're looking through the eyes of the child and the ausidence takes his place. i think the last scene up to where the parents hug the child could have some more animating in and the last scene i was thinking that we could fade it back into a completed puzzle.
If it's cool with you, we need to book out the sound studio at some point to record the foley and check out the sound library too to see what we can find :D x
looks awesome laura :) good job :) I actually really liked the hand drawn puzzle bits you did :) if we cant get the studio or the stop motion doesnt work out for some reason that could still work really nicely as a second option :)
ReplyDeleteHi Guys. Good to see your animatic at long last. There are some moments of confusion for me - when the hand appears and then the cut to the jigsaw - whats the relationship - a bit mor emovement is called for. We could do with some shots of the boy's reaction in c/u at the end as well. I also need to see the production schedule asap so that I can secure the studio for you. Keep up the good work though!
